WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING
"My wife and I were renting a small apartment in the Marais. It was small and cozy for our 1 year sabbatical abroad. But the landlord was rude and it was hard to get service when something wasn't working properly. So when we couldn't get our toilet to stop running one day, the other english-speaking couple in our building referred us to Paris Handyman. We contacted them through their website and got a response within a few hours. We were grateful for the quick reply, and that it was in English. We made an appointment and their plumber arrived a few days later to look at our toilet. He explained the problem, went out to buy the replacement part, and came back within an hour to install it. He was pleasant and professional and we got the job taken care of without any stress.
The following year, my wife and I decided we wanted to stay in France more permanently and my company agreed for me to work out of the European office. We found a small house in the western suburbs that suited our needs. But it was in a terrible state as it hadn't been worked on in at least 30 years. It made negotiating a purchase price easier, but we knew we would need a complete renovation. We remembered that Paris Handyman also did renovations and so we went back to the website and made another appointment. Tom came out to the new house on a Saturday afternoon and we went through every room discussing the changes we wanted to have done. He gave us great advice and helped us come up with an affordable and timely plan that we were happy with. Their prices were no more than we would have paid a French company, and being in English, with Canadian-style service and transparency, it made our lives a whole lot easier. What a difference from my experiences with French companies. Throughout the project, we had a highly skilled crew that was easy to communicate with and was always ready to accommodate our wishes, even when they differed from the original plans. They were aware of the needs of expats as they themselves are expats, and understood our tastes and perspectives without any difficulty. They not only performed the renovation work, but they also dedicated two afternoons to go shopping with us to choose kitchen materials, bathroom fixtures and fittings, tiles, and even paint colors. I highly recommend Paris Contractors to anyone that needs renovation work, especially expats. If I ever need anything, I know they are just an email away. We arrived in Paris feeling like a ‘fish out of water’ but after meeting Tom and working with his team, we feel comfortable and supported in our new home." |
